As Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, the goji berry pulp processing workshop of Ningxia Liuyue Zhenzhu Wolfberry Technology, located in Hongsibu district, Wuzhong, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, has stepped up production.
The company purchases fresh goji berries picked by farmers nearby. The fresh goji berries are directly sent to the workshop for pressing and stored in a cold storage for preservation.
Compared to the traditional model of purchasing dried goji berries, fresh procurement mitigates price fluctuations in the dried goji berry market and stabilizes the income of farmers.
The company's new factory building was put into operation in May. It has seen orders for Mid-Autumn Festival peak season worth nearly 2 million yuan ($298,177).
The workshop currently has over 20 regular employees. During peak production periods, employment will be expanded, with surrounding residents prioritized.
Through deep processing, cold chain storage, e-commerce sales, and brand OEM, the company supports the local goji berry pulp industry shifting from selling dried fruits to selling high-added value products.
