With an altitude of 2,530 meters, Beilianchi, also known as Liupan Tianchi, a natural high-mountain lake in Longde county, Guyuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, has long been hidden in the dense shade of the Liupan Mountains, offering a picturesque retreat.
Last year, the special tourist road linking Beilianchi and Fuxi Cliff to Houzhuang village opened to traffic. This dedicated line was integrated into the county-wide tourism loop, connecting multiple scenic spots and beautiful villages along the route.

"I always feel that when I cross the Qinling Mountains, a natural boundary between China's north and south, and head north, I will see bare mountains, barren slopes, crisscrossing ravines, and endless loess. After all, most people believe the ecological foundation here is weak, and greenery is already sparce," said Han Dongxue, a tourist from Nanjing in Jiangsu province.
Han added that this had broken her preconceptions of the Loess Plateau.
As an important ecological security barrier on the Loess Plateau, Ningxia has continuously promoted key projects such as ecological restoration of nature reserves and comprehensive management of small watersheds over the years, steadily increasing vegetation coverage year by year.
