The 30-year partnership between Fujian province and the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region has greatly contributed to the prosperity of Ningxia residents.
Over the past 30 years, Fujian has assisted in the construction of more than 410 workshops in Ningxia, providing employment opportunities for over 200,000 Ningxia residents. More than 90,000 students facing difficulties and over 15,000 people with disabilities in Ningxia have received financial assistance.
Haode Paper Industry from Fujian's Xiamen settled in Longde county, Guyuan, Ningxia, in 2014. The company has since grown into a local "gazelle" enterprise and a base for employment for people with disabilities. Here, this demographic is dubbed "silent employees".
"Previously, we only made fruit boxes, which had strong seasonality and unstable employee income. Now our company is shifting to industrial boxes, providing stable supply to well-known brands, and producing at full capacity throughout the year," said Li Aixia, general manager of Ningxia Longde Haode Paper Industry.

Zeng Dewu and Liu Nannan from Fujian founded Ningxia Aolifei Packaging in Jingyuan county, Guyuan, in 2019. Luo Zhaodi, one of the company's employees, can produce 700 to 800 bags a day. Her monthly income of 4,000 to 5,000 yuan ($589-$736) can support her living expenses.
The company has attracted over 300 local people like Luo, helping them to get jobs at their doorsteps.

Feimaotui technical school in Yuanzhou district, Guyuan, serves as a single-building teaching site established by Fujian's Scud Group in 2018. In 2025, the school was renamed Ningxia Sanjiang Technical School.
"We implement the '1+1+1' model: the first year is to study theory in Yuanzhou, the second year is for acquiring practical certification in Fujian, and the third year is to intern at a local company. Food, clothing, accommodation, transportation, and educational expenses are all free, with a 100 percent employment rate for graduates and an average monthly salary of 5,000 yuan," said Liao Shibao from the school.
The school has trained over 1,600 students, mostly from impoverished families, who have now become skilled technicians in the electronics industry.
