Ningxia Zhongning Saima Cement, located in Xixia district, Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, has obtained China's first cement carbon footprint label for three of its products: 52.5 grade general-purpose cement clinker, 42.5 grade ordinary Portland cement, and 42.5R grade ordinary Portland cement.
The company ranks among six enterprises from Ningxia that have obtained China's first batch of product carbon footprint label certification.
They cover seven pilot products in five major categories: lithium batteries, textiles, electronic appliances, cement, and wood products.
Carbon footprint label certification involves verifying the quantification results and consistency of a product's carbon footprint through methods such as on-site inspections and product verification.
This can help enterprises strengthen and improve their carbon footprint management, thereby advancing China's dual carbon goals of seeing carbon emissions peak prior to 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060.
The company has established a carbon emission data ledger covering raw materials and fuels, collecting full-scope data on process emissions, fuel combustion emissions, electricity consumption emissions, and transportation emissions.
