Huanghe (Yellow River) Suji, located in Dawan village, Zhongwei, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, is a high-end homestay cluster in China.
Xia Yuqing, a renowned advocate for the development of homestay clusters, said: "When we arrived, the village had already been completely relocated. With the Yellow River, Great Wall, Gobi Desert, oasis, and ancient village all located here, there's probably no place like it anywhere in China."
He immediately recognized its potential and spearheaded an effort to establish homestays, bookstores, cafes, and art museums at the site.
Xia incorporated local cuisine and culture, helping preserve many fading traditions such as ceramic making, which visitors can now experience at a new workshop.
"We hope to connect rural and urban areas through art, tourism, culture, and commerce," said Xia.
Xia hopes the project will also bring visitors and economic opportunities to nearby villages, helping support broader rural development.
