In 2025, the economy of Ningxia Hui autonomous region has made steady progress, according to its latest government work report.
The regional GDP for the year reached 569.6 billion yuan ($82.12 billion), an increase of 5.3 percent, exceeding the national average.
The added value of its primary, secondary, and tertiary industries increased by 6 percent, 5.2 percent, and 5.2 percent, respectively, ranking second, seventh, and ninth in the country.
Its fixed asset investment increased by 6 percent, ranking fourth in the country, while the added value of industries above a designated size increased by 6.9 percent.
The region's total retail sales of consumer goods and total imports and exports increased by 2.1 percent and 3.4 percent, respectively.
The region also saw the per capita disposable income of its residents increase by 5.5 percent, ranking fifth in the country. Its urbanization rate now sits at 69.1 percent.
To advance industrial development, the region implemented over 2,800 key projects and introduced or promoted the commercialization of over 600 technological achievements last year.
The development of beautiful Ningxia has also made progress, as the proportion of days with good air quality in the city exceeded 88 percent last year.
The city also made strong efforts to promote livelihood projects, which led to improvements in living standards. For instance, over 8,700 new high school enrollment slots were added, and the enrollment rate for regular high schools exceeded 76 percent.
