During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the per capita disposable income of all residents in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region increased from 25,735 yuan ($3,672) in 2020 to 33,355 yuan in 2024, with an average annual growth rate of 6.7 percent, which is 0.3 percentage points higher than the national average.
The income ratio of urban and rural residents has decreased from 2.57 in 2020 to 2.34 in 2024.
Ningxia has rolled out a series of targeted assistance measures to provide employment opportunities and income security for migrant workers.
This year, Tongxin county in the region has invested 1 million yuan in special funds and opened up "point-to-point" free special vehicles. County leaders have led teams to visit enterprises and expand employment opportunities in five provinces and regions, excavating more than 5,000 job positions for local people. The county has sent 3,609 laborers out for employment to help increase their income.
Elsewhere in Hongsibu district, Wuzhong, 16 supporting measures have been refined and introduced, raising the subsidy standard for poverty-stricken people and key focus people to 4,800 yuan.
To date, the district has distributed work and transportation subsidies to 47,400 people, with a total amount of 121 million yuan.
