A test high-speed train recently departed from Baotou Station in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, marking the Baotou-to-Huinong (a district in Shizuishan city of Ningxia Hui autonomous region) section of the Baotou-Yinchuan high-speed railway entering the final countdown to launch.
It is projected to be open to the public by the end of this year. This will slash the travel time between Baotou and Yinchuan from six hours to three hours, positioning it as the most convenient route to Beijing from Northwest China.
Spanning around 420 kilometers and running at 250 kilometers per hour, the Baotou-Huinong section of the new high-speed railway will arrive at Huinong South Station in Shizuishan, Ningxia from Baotou Station by way of Bayannur, Ordos, and Wuhai in Inner Mongolia.
