Wineries in the east foothills of Helan Mountain sign contracts worth 2.32 billion yuan

On March 17, the "Toast to Helan Mountain" new product launch event of the wine-producing area in the east foothills of Helan Mountain was held in Chengdu.

The "Toast to Helan Mountain" new product launch event of the wine-producing area in the eastern foothills of Helan Mountain is held in Chengdu.

During the event, the wineries in the eastern foothills of Helan Mountain signed contracts with multiple domestic companies, with the total value reaching 2.32 billion yuan ($310.09 million).

The east foothills of Helan Mountain in Ningxia Hui autonomous region are widely recognized as one of the world's prime locations for cultivating wine grapes and producing high-end wines. Its advantageous features include suitable altitude, abundant sunlight, significant diurnal temperature variation, and a dry, mild climate. The grapes produced here possess fully developed aromas, well-formed pigments, and balanced sugar and acidity, enabling the production of Chinese-style wines comparable to those from renowned wine regions around the world.

Currently, the grape planting area for winemaking in Ningxia has reached 602,000 mu (401 square kilometers), exceeding one-third of the national planting area, making it the largest contiguous area for wine grape cultivation in China.

There are 253 wineries and grape-growing enterprises, producing 140 million bottles of wine annually, accounting for nearly 40 percent of the total output of domestic wineries, ranking first in the country.

The brand value of "wine produced in the east foothills of Helan Mountain" has reached 32.02 billion yuan, ranking 8th on the list of regional brands of geographical indication products in China, with a comprehensive output value of over 40.16 billion yuan.

As one of the globally renowned wine-producing regions, Ningxia, with its unique geographical location and abundant resources, is gradually emerging as one of the world's premier wine-producing regions.
