At the ongoing second session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing, NPC deputy Li Dongmei has made proposals regarding the promotion of the development of community commerce.
In recent years, online consumption has flourished, not only matching people's accelerated pace of life, but also satisfying residents' demands for convenience and diversified goods, activating a new "engine" for consumption. However, at the same time, offline businesses have been impacted, and the lack of vitality in traditional consumption has become more prominent.
Li suggested prioritizing the promotion of community commerce, actively improving the service functions of newly built community commerce, promoting new retail formats, sports and fitness, and lifestyle services to enrich community commercial supply, further restoring and expanding consumption.
