At the ongoing second session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), CPPCC member Chen Yong submitted a proposal on setting up a "National Sanitation Workers' Day".
Urban sanitation work is an important part of urban management. Currently, 16 provincial-level administrative units and 42 prefecture-level units in other provinces (regions, municipalities) nationwide have established their own Sanitation Workers' Day.
Chen believes that by establishing a "National Sanitation Workers' Day", it can enhance the sense of honor for frontline sanitation workers, stabilize the sanitation workforce, and will also stimulate the labor enthusiasm of over 3 million sanitation workers nationwide, playing a significant role in actively promoting the country's ecological civilization construction.
