On Feb 21, the China (Ningxia) - German Week for Friendship and Cooperation took place in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region.
Jointly organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and the German Embassy in China, this event was attended by 360 representatives from the German government, business associations and renowned companies, as well as Ningxia’s universities, research institutions and local enterprises.
During the event, 19 cooperation projects were signed with a total contract value of 157 million yuan ($21.82 million). It consists of three main categories of projects – investment, trading, as well as education and culture. Based on these cooperation projects, elderly care services, equipment manufacturing, green environmental protection, import and export of multiple products, and vocational education are expected to be promoted.
This China (Ningxia) - German Week for Friendship and Cooperation is the first crucial event focusing on economic and trade cooperation in Ningxia this year. Through exploring the complementary advantages and cooperation potential between China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Germany in the fields of economic and trade investment, cultural tourism, medical health, and green development, it aims to attract more German capital, talent, and technology to Ningxia.
China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Germany have a solid foundation for cooperation. In recent years, the import and export trade has grown rapidly, with a growth rate of over 55 percent for two consecutive years from 2022 to 2023.
Going forward, Ningxia will continuously optimize the local business environment, and encourage the cross-border flow of talents, capital, technology, goods, and services, providing convenience for German companies to invest in Ningxia.
