At the sturgeon aquaculture base of the Fuhuixiang Ecological Agriculture Company in Shizuishan city, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, workers are processing and packaging caviar to ship the product to different market destinations.
The Fuhuixiang Ecological Agriculture Company is a key enterprise of investment in Shizuishan city. As a leading aquatic technology enterprise, it focuses on sturgeon farming and the processing of sturgeon caviar and meat products, with exports as its main target. Since 2017, it has invested a total of 55 million yuan ($7.65 million) in the development of sturgeon farming and high-end caviar production projects.
Currently, the aquaculture base has 98 standardized breeding ponds, raising a total of 140,000 sturgeons.
In 2023, the Fuhuixiang Ecological Agriculture Company processed and produced 4 tons of caviar, with an estimated output value of 20 million yuan. It is expected to create job opportunities for over 30 local farmers and increase their annual income by more than 1.3 million yuan, effectively contributing to rural revitalization.
The successful initial processing of Fuhuixiang caviar has promoted the development of both upstream and downstream industries, while also making a positive contribution to local economic development. Going forward, the company will further enhance its production capacity, and aim to provide the market with more high-quality premium caviar products, making an important contribution to the extension and development of the fishery economic industrial chain in Shizuishan city.
