Yinchuan wine-producing area receives three Grand Gold awards

On Mar 14, the wine-producing areas of China received a total of 88 awards, among which, 3 Grand Gold awards were obtained by the Yinchuan wine-producing area at the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains, a new record, according to the award list of 2023 Berliner Wein Trophy Winter Competition.

The Berliner Wein Trophy, held by the DWM Company, is one of five major international wine competitions and the most important international wine competition under the patronage of the International Vine and Wine Organization (O.I.V.).

This year, a total of 9,000 wines from different parts of the world participated in the competition, and the judges of the competition were composed of 230 professionals from various fields in the wine industry. In accordance with the rules of the O.I.V., only 30% of the wines can receive the award for each award category.

A total of 300 Chinese wines from wine-producing areas in Ningxia, Shandong, Xinjiang, Hebei and other places participated in the competition and received a total of 88 awards, among which, 3 Grand Gold awards were awarded to the dry red wines of Ningxia Lilan Winery Co., Ltd., Chateau Vegani, and Lorna Valley Winery. Over 50% of the 85 Gold awards were given to wines produced in the Yinchuan wine-producing area at the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains.
