"At first I didn't want to be a traffic police officer. I wanted to be a criminal police officer. When I was assigned to the traffic police at the beginning, I was a little disappointed. I asked my family: 'Why did I become a traffic police officer?' Later I found out that the traffic police are the most commonly seen police force on the street, and there is indeed a lot of danger. With our help, traffic problems can be ironed out, and life can run smoothly."Zhang said, "If there is an emergency, such as a pregnant woman or someone else in urgent need of a hospital. When we are on duty, if a driver sees us, he or she can pull over and ask us to intervene, saying something like, 'Can you help us get through? We are on the way to the hospital.' We can clear the way right away. So what would normally be a 10 minute journey can be reduced to just a few minutes with our help. Moments like this make me feel very proud, because I am a traffic police officer, because I am a police officer."
