After each court session, Chen would come to the side of the party to talk about any problems. "She is not just handling a case, but thinking about how to solve the fundamental problems of the individual parties." said the colleague of Chen.
Two years ago, Chen applied for retirement but was not approved. The court still needs her to handle cases. "The number of registered judges is limited," she said, "you have to do the best work for the people who in need."

"We must satisfy the people in our work. I am a judge so I take justice for the people as my duty. Treating people as if they were my family members has been a strong support for me in sticking to the profession of being judge throughout my life." said Chen.
