Zhang Xiaoling, representative at the 20th CPC National Congress and teacher at Guyuan No.2 Middle School, has devoted herself to education for 33 years. She demonstrates the principle of "establishing moral modes to better cultivate rising stars" with her own stories.

In 1989, Zhang graduated from Guyuan Normal College and was assigned to teach in a rural middle school in Yuanzhou district, Guyuan. At the beginning of the new semester, a student's parents came to pay the tuition fee, handing her a pile of cash wrapped in layers of newspaper. At that moment, Zhang recognized how hard people from poor backgrounds worked to afford their children's tuition fees, giving her a greater sense of responsibility in her role. She often says: "As a teacher, we should shoulder our responsibilities, but first of all, we should have compassion for people."
To students, she is a teacher, a friend and a mother. There was a student whose father passed away in her last year of senior high school. She came from an impoverished family, and did not have enough money for food. Zhang Xiaoling provided her with financial support every month until she graduated from high school.

Zhang has worked as a head teacher for 24 years, and still sticks to the front line of teaching. She has been awarded the titles of "national teacher's ethics model" and "senior high school English teacher".
Zhang said that she is very proud to be a representative at the 20th CPC National Congress, and she will continue to cultivate more talents for the country.
