Wang Lanhua, secretary of the CPC charity association committee in Jinxing town, Litong district, Wuzhong, Ningxia, has devoted herself to local volunteering work. She has solved more than 7,000 problems for residents, mediated over 600 disputes, carried out more than 7,000 public welfare activities and promoted the development of volunteer teams in Litong district from 7 to more than 100,000 people. Today, with a total of 305,000 people living in Wuzhong city, there is one person participating in volunteering work for every five people.

In 2004, Wang retired from the Yuxi community committee in Jinxing town, Litong district, Wuzhong city. In 2005, she decided to establish the first community volunteer team in Wuzhong city with six other people. Due to limited resources, the team used Wang's home as their office, and Wang turned her personal phone number into the helpline of the team. They have been working on taking care of the elderly, helping neighbors solve trivial matters and assisted in community security patrols.

In 2010, the community provided the team with an office and activity room with an area of 230 square meters, supporting the establishment of the "Lanhua volunteering service center". The local government has also built additional function rooms for the service center, which has given Wang more confidence to organize volunteering activities.
In 2012, the service center established the CPC branch committee, introduced seven social organizations and enterprises, and built ten volunteering sub teams specialized in different problems. At the beginning of 2020, after the outbreak of COVID-19, Wang Lanhua set up a pandemic control team of more than 50 people, helping the community curb the expansion of the virus.
Up to now, there have been over 1,000 people who have applied to be a member of Wang’s volunteer team. She has been awarded as the "national woman pace-setter", "national moral model" as well as other accolades. Wang is very proud to be a representative at the 20th CPC National Congress.
