In recent years, Ningxia has promoted the expansion and improvement of foreign trade and economic cooperation, and developed an open economy.
From Aug 8 to 11, Ningxia will hold the China (Ningxia) and South Korea Cooperation Exchanges Week in Yinchuan.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea 30 years ago, trade between Ningxia and South Korea has been expanding. According to the Department of Commerce of Ningxia Hui autonomous region, in the first half of this year, Ningxia's imports and exports were 760 million yuan (about $114 million) with a year-on-year growth rate of 65.4%, accounting for 6.2% of the region's imports and exports.
Over the years, by creating "digital government" and introducing policies such as optimizing the business environment, Ningxia has made it more convenient for enterprises to seek cooperation. Additionally, with building the “Belt and Road”, Ningxia has taken advantage of strengthening its cooperation with other countries and regions. At present, Ningxia has carried out economic and trade cooperation with 186 countries and regions, and 156 enterprises have been established in 35 countries and regions. The foreign investment area has been extended from Europe and America to more than 40 countries and regions such as Central Asia, West Asia and Africa. Meanwhile, a bunch of well-known foreign enterprises such as Amazon AWS, Simplot and Hyosung of South Korea have settled in Ningxia.
