A famed poet in the Song dynasty (960-1279), Su Dongpo, once described edible daylily flowers as the precious treasures of farmers. In midsummer, in Liuquan town, Hongsibu district, Wuzhong, Ningxia, the farmlands at the foot of the Luo Mountain are abundant with charming daylilies that are considered herbs and may be used for cooking.

The daylilies grown in Hongsibu are crisp, refreshing, delicious and juicy. Rated as one of high-quality agricultural products in China, daylilies have promoted the revitalization of Hongsibu village.
