On July 27, the 9th Ningxia Seed Industry Exposition was held in Pingluo county, aimed at establishing the high-quality seed brand of Ningxia. Song Shiwen, deputy secretary of the CPC Shizuishan committee and secretary of the CPC Pingluo county committee, said Pingluo county has formed the export-oriented pattern in seed industry.

The seed industry is a pillar industry for local farmers. About 80 percent of the vegetable seeds in Ningxia are grown in Pingluo county, and more than 95 percent of the seeds are sold to 28 provinces and cities across the country. Bean seed production accounts for one-third of the national market, and some solanaceous vegetable seeds are sold to 27 countries and regions such as the United States, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

With the theme of “green, technology, brand and future”, the expo seeks to strengthen the seed production industry of Ningxia, broadens the export channels and the platform of investment in Pingluo county, enhances the core competitiveness of the seed brand, and promotes rural revitalization.

In 2022, Pingluo county has a seed production area of 80,000 mu, and over 90 seed varieties. Relying on 22 seed production enterprises and adopting the mode of "company + base + orders", 22 seed production parks, with an area of more than 200 mu, have been built. This drove 22,000 farming households to participate in the industry. It has formed a seed production industrial belt dominated by Huangquqiao, Touzha and other towns, with a total seed production of more than 21 million kilograms and a total output value of 420 million yuan (about $63 million).
At present, 28 enterprises have reached 34 cooperation agreements with enterprises in Pingluo county, with a signed capital of 975 million yuan.
