In the past five years, Ningxia has further strengthened the foundation of agricultural production. The grain area of Ningxia stables at more than 666,666.7 hectares, with the total output at 3.7 million tons. The production of meat, eggs and milk has reached 350,000 tons, 120,000 tons, and 2.8 million tons respectively.

Ningxia has supported the construction of 147 towns in total, accounting for 91.8% of all towns beyond the urban planning area. A total of 1,089 villages have been built and 3,216 old villages have been improved, accounting for 94.7% of the planned central and general villages, which ensured the promising changes of the appearance of towns and villages. A total of 492,500 dangerous houses in rural areas have been renovated, and 32,400 earthquake-resistant and livable farm houses have been built, solving the housing safety problems of 2 million poor rural people.
