On July 6th, the 2022 International Scientific and Technological Innovation Conference on Green Development was held online in Ningxia.
The theme of the conference was “pursuing cooperation and sharing in green and low-carbon development”. This is consistent with the strategic target of Ningxia to build the “scientific and technological innovation hub” and “green ecological hub”.

Ningxia is the largest demonstration area of the coal chemical industry in China, as well as the first national comprehensive demonstration zone of new energy. The government is accelerating the construction of the base of clean energy, the power station of clean electricity, and the industry of clean green hydrogen.

Ningxia is the first leading area of scientific and technological cooperation between eastern and western China. The average annual growth rate of research & development expenditure is 15%. With over 2,000 technological enterprises, the research & development expenditure of enterprises accounts for 78% of the one of the whole society. Meanwhile, Ningxia is vigorously promoting the innovation in all aspects with scientific and technological innovation as the core.
Ningxia is the only province that works as the “exchange center and crucial hub” in China. There are seven large data centers, gathering more than 200 upstream and downstream enterprises. Additionally, Ningxia is building "three bases" including the national demonstration base of "dealing with the data from the east by the data center from the west”.

Zhang Yupu, chairman of Ningxia Hui autonomous region, says that with the joint efforts from others and driven by scientific and technological innovation, Ningxia will promote green and low-carbon development and focus on energy transformation.
